Apps can be useful in the right contexts. But this post focuses on keeping tools as tools, not expecting them to fo magic, like. ‘silver bullets’ for actual work progress.

Once Upon a Time…

Note-taking is a good habit. I’ve kept a digital journal for over 30 years, though my entries have been inconsistent. I never thought of it as “journaling”; it was more of a venting activity. That was before Windows 3.1, when I used an MS-DOS-based text editor.

The Productivity Trap

In 2024, there are many note-taking and task management apps. It’s great how apps have evolved quickly. Progress is good unless it halts your productivity. Remember, more medicine isn’t a doctor’s advice.
